It's really not a horrible spot to slow down. Just becuase you 3 bet a hand pre does not mean your goal is to get it in on the flop cause you hit top pair. The reason i mainly 3 bet AQ is becuase i a) win their raise and b) i win the pot w/ a Cbet on unimproved boards a hell of alot more often then not.

I'm not saying getting it in on this flop is bad, but i don't think that it is the goal. AQ is a much better hand to win w/o showdown. showdown drastically reduces your chances of having a winning hand imo.

Bet the flop. If you opt to for pot control check behind on the turn not this flop.

Aren't you 2nd to act. He'd likely lead into you in which case you should raise.
