First hand in a $22 on FTP. This happened this morning.

I have 99 and raise three times the big blind from the button. The SB pushes.

call.

It's such a ridiculous play that you are significantly ahead of his range imo.

If he has at least two overcards here close to 100% of the time do you still call this early in the tournament.

Say he is a player who plays AA and KK like this never, 10-QQ 25% of the time, and two overs the other 75%. Then it is a clear fold, yes?

There's definitely always going to be a chance that these first hand shovers will have ATC or more precisely at least one card below your 9 is in a significant part of their range to where you have to include it.

It's the lower end of what I'd call with but I would call.

easy fold imho.

The best thing u can get is a coinflip against AQ or something.
I cant see him pushing with something u have dominated...

this is ridiculous. your argument is assuming that everyone plays optimally. at the 22 dollar level you are going to see some crazy hands in this spot. chicagory's was a 55, but its a good example. if he's dumb enough to try to lose as much value as possible with 1010+ then whatever. you are going to see Ax/lower pair/atc way more often than a big pair.

99 is on the lower end of my calling range (88+/AQ+), but without a read I think folding is terrible.

I agree with this.

Any pair under 88 and you start coinflipping the vast majority of starting hands.

I disagree. I think it's a call, but a fold here isn't terrible IMO.
