Default HUSng: A9 vs. Manic

Playing a HUSnG at the 33 level on FT vs. an absolute maniac. He pushes about 90% of his hands preflop. I'm waiting for any pair or A-10 or better to call him. But I don't hit anything close until I am at 1,100 in chips. Then I am dealt A-9o on the button. Easy call, yes?

Also, against someone like this, what is the bottom of your range?

IF he is truly pushing 9 out of every ten hands, then i think this is a call, HOWEVER,it is a border line call. but since he is pushing 9 out of 10 hands, his range is so wide that you almost have to call, but in certain situations i would lay this down, like if he is just pushing every so often, insted of raising, then you could assume his range is A bit better than your hand.

how is it possibly borderline if hes pushing 90% of hands???

if he's pushing 50% of hands its still a call

A9o is 56% to win against the top 50% of hands. Enough to be profitable but not by much. Of course against the top 10% of hands A9o is about a 70% favorite. Not Marginal at all.

just my opinion. i wouldnt want to call off 1100 chips with A_9. i would in this situation however given the circumstances, i still would feel as though it was a gamble call. obv. the math says its a no brainer. i still think there is going to be a better spot to catch the mainiac.
again its just my view. i wouldnt dispute the percentages. just seems like a marginal call to me.

I you cannot put it in with any ace against this guy then you render yourself defenceless against his aggression. I would need far less than A9 to get it in against this guy. If he is shoving so much by the time you get a premium to fight back with he will have you so well covered in chips he will be happy to take the 35% shot at the win knowing he still has plenty of shoving chips if he misses.
