Default 100NL: Raise for value or just call.

I've always been passive on the river and I feel I need to work on this.

Villain is 31/3/3 and he and I haven't really tangled yet. I have been 3-betting possible steals light but not really showndown any pots.

Poker Stars, $0.50/$1 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 5 Players
LegoPoker Hand History Converter

UTG: $102.65
CO: $101.65
BTN: $100
SB: $58.90
Hero (BB): $101.50

Pre-Flop: 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (BB)
3 folds, SB calls $0.50, Hero checks

Flop: ($2) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($2) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
<font color="red">SB bets $3</font>, <font color="red">Hero raises to $11</font>, SB calls $8

River: ($24) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
<font color="red">SB bets $12</font>, <font color="blue">Hero</font> ???

The board is paired and I don't have the best possible straight, but I don't no if this guy will fold an eight since my turn bet could easily be bluffing a scare card. Is this a raise or am I only getting called by something that beats me?

Very tough, because he could definitely have a bare 8 here. I'd probably shove because that's what I do.

And if he shoves puke and fold? Because if you don't fold, you should shove because he's calling off all his money with any 8 here.

Sorry didn't look at stack sizes properly, just assumed 100BBs. Fist pump shove

Sorry to be nitty but bet the flop. He started with a stack of 60bbs, which makes this an easy river shove. 100bbs you can value raise the river and still fold to a shove.

Normally I bet $1.50-$2 on the flop, but I was distracted at the time and just checked by mistake.
