What about checking behind on the flop in hand 1 to induce a bluff?

I think it can be a good way to mix up your game, and it has worked rather well for me. I've had people fire two shots at me when they paired on the turn thinking I don't have an A, while they would have probably folded to a bet on the flop.

The reason I don't like doing this in position is that I c-bet HU here almost all of the time anyways, and my hand is not super strong. I don't want observant villains seeing that I c-bet when I don't have it, but I'm not c-betting when I have it. That said, I may think about checking if I had AK or AQ in the hand instead.

I think you should definitely bet if you have AK or AQ to get value for your hand.

I think part of the reasoning behind checking the flop is if the "tricky trappy" player called with AK-AJ. So not only do you get to induce bluffs, you also lose less against a better hand.

I think you should be more inclined to check with something like A8. AT seems borderline to me. It's the same sort of thing as checking when you've got KK on this board. (WA/WB)

i.e. C-bet your strong hands and bluffs, check your mediocre ones.

So you c-bet when you've got it and you don't, and you check it when you might have it, and you might not. (In reference to being ahead or behind against the opponent)
