Re: Belgariad game thread
Actually, I stand by my comment to you. You really need to work on not making terrible arguments that make everyone want to lynch you ala Xmen.

Re: Belgariad game thread
well if a bunch of villagers plan to aggresively vote around the deadline, the grolims still have the advantage. because they will have a much clearer picture of what's going on and what the real vote count is.
whereas if we try to reason out an ideal candidate beforehand and all vote that person for an overwhelming lynch, i think we negate their vote power slightly. however, this strategy is open to grolims manipulating the debate. also it is hard in this game to get votes moved in 'ideal' ways because some people don't check in a lot. and on the first night it's very hard to get consensus. so i'm not sure what the village vote strategy should be here |

so i'm not sure what the village vote strategy should be here [/ QUOTE ] I think it needs to be something different than what we usually do...obviously, as we don't have much room for error. I have a list of 3-4 people that I will be willing to vote for based on whether or not I think their posts have been wolfy or not. If my #4 guy is pulling away, I will gladly put a vote on him to keep the baddies from having too much control. |

Re: Belgariad game thread
Hmmmmm, I'm talking to myself here, but that's OK.
The more I look back and think about it, the more I really want to switch to Jonsan. But I will only do so if I can get a following. Anyone here want to go jonsan with me? |

Re: Belgariad game thread
While reading these rules in depth, it seems to me that the whole key to this game (before the Errand see) is Nachak. Nachak can control the voting in a huge way (swing of about 4 votes, give or take). If we are lucky enough to kill Nachak, the bad guys position becomes very weak I think, so much so that we shouldn't even look for Errand at that point.
So, Silk, Lady, Belg, if you find him, I think it would be worth coming out with that knowledge. The assassin would probably kill you, but a 2-for-1 trade at that point would probably be worth it. As for voting startagies this round, if Silk or Mandorallen put all of their votes to whomever is in the lead, they will somwhat counteract Nachak; I think we need about a 3 vote cushion to make the village vote count. |

Re: Belgariad game thread
I'e been following, just paying more attention to the POG tourn. I still like Chuck and KUJ. Pistolero is drawing a lot of attention for his castaway vote on Alex Levin and I can see why. I wish he'd say a bit more. I also think Zurvan is evil but I'm in no way willing to vote him yet.

jonsan (take a look at his post or two and let me know if i'm just crazy. i almost like him more than pistol) [/ QUOTE ] Honestly I think he might have jumped into the middle of the melee and been a bit lost. I'll admit his voting post is strange, working from your list instead of making his own. Suspicious, yes, but its probably worth hearing him post more. |
