[/ QUOTE ] Paraphrasing but, [actually I've got worst position because Liz and I are such good friends that if she raises in and I re-raise that she most likely knows that I have a hand...if we weren't such good friends it'd be good position but there were a couple of times that I thought she was weak and I didn't have anything but I let it go, where if it was someone else, I'd play back at them....] Sounds like soft-play to me, but what the hell do I know?

Sorry no disrespect but I think this is kind of a nit post.
He's talking about making an adjustment in his playing strategy to a specific player because of his knowledge of her game, and because of what he thinks she thinks about what he may or may not be doing, because of her knowledge of his game. To me, there's no way this is an implied admission to soft-playing. It is more like, when he does reraise back at her, it is more likely that he has a hand and less likely that he is bluffing. Seems pretty straightforward to me.

I tend to agree with the criticism of me in the post. As I have said in the past, there are going to be situations where players are close enough friends, that they may tend to play each other straight up.
For me, there are four such people: my girlfriend Alex, my son Joe, Mimi Tran, and Liz Lieu. They are all close to me outside of poker. Even though I have poker friends, e.g., Phil Ivey, I would try to bluff them in a heartbeat if I thought it was the percentage play. If any of you have played the boardgame Risk, sometimes unspoken alliances are made to the benefit of you and another player and to the detriment of others. That's how it felt when Liz was at my right. She didn't totally take advantage of me being on her left. She folded on the button a few times and gave me two walks from the small blind, but it seemed like we took turns raising in late position. I remember twice I thought she was stealing from the cutoff, but I let it go. One of those times the big blind played back at her and her hand got shown: two queens. Twice I raised in first position and she called me in the big blind. Both times I made my normal continuation bet on the flop and she folded. Once I connected with the flop and the other time I didn't. Barry
