Preflop Check Ups
A is very loose and alternates between fits of passiveness and aggressiveness. He likes to get to showdown with most of his pairs, but will bluff in pots that are smaller if checked to.
B has only been at the table a few rotations but seems like a standard loose-passive, both preflop and post. C is a maniac. He calls with junk preflop, bluffs crazily, and pays off. D seems decent but is a little too loose and too weak to be a TAG. Hand 1: Folded to Hero in the HJ. A is in CO, B is OTB, C is SB, D is BB. Hero folds KTo. Hand 2: 2+2 is a TAG 2+2er. 2+2 raises 3nd in, A 3-bets, B calls, C calls, 1 fold, Hero sees AKo in SB and calls. |

Re: Preflop Check Ups
hand 1: boooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hand 2: as long as you didn't fold, but 4 betting is still best against that lineup imo. |

Re: Preflop Check Ups
First one is fine. You can play if you want but it's not a huge deal. I fold this in the HJ online when there are super loose players in position on me but I play it live because everyone is awful and I don't care if they have position on me.
Second one I cap because I don't call raises with AK. |

Re: Preflop Check Ups
It appears that you have changed seats between hand 1 and hand 2 which could be the best thing you can do.
I see no problem with your fold in hand 1. Did you look left to gain information on what the players behind you may do? Hand 2 is a more difficult decision. Because all three options are valid, for me it would depend on my current table image, my read on player A's 3 bet and the possibility of the 2+2er capping. Jim |

Re: Preflop Check Ups
For everyone who says cap in hand 2, is there no value in seeing if 2+2 caps or is it just not worth it?

Re: Preflop Check Ups
your actions in both hands are what i would do...
hand 1 - KTo is not strong mutliway and it appears this is going to be that kind of a hand...i wait for Axs, K9s+, connected broadways etc knowing that these hands will get action with the opponents you are up against hand 2 may be capped preflop anyway so i would rather lay low and wait to see if i make a hand, then i check/raise it later...i don't see another preflop bet driving anyone out of the hand, & with 4 others in the hand i need only 2bb of calls to recover what is being missed in value preflop... also, if it's not capped preflop i have less invested in the hand if i do not make my hand. |
