Re: Propbet: 10000 pushups in a week
I just did a push-up in one second. Therefore, I can do more than 600,000 push-ups in a week. Send me the money.

he has a couple of months to train. I think if you want to win this bet enough you will. 10k pushups is a lot, but definetly something you can do if you work up to it.

Re: Propbet: 10000 pushups in a week
7 days * 16 waking hours/day * 60 minutes/hour * 60 seconds/minute = 403,200 waking seconds in a week.
You would need a push-up every 40.3 seconds 16 hours a day for a solid week. I don't think you could do it. If you're going to do it, though, train in sets of 5. Start with doing a set 5 and waiting 30-40 minutes. It shouldn't be enough to tire you out or make your muscles sore. If it does, reduce the number per set or increase the waiting time between sets. Gradually increase the number per set and decrease the rest time. But even so, you're talking about a set of 5 push-ups every three minutes, 16 hours a day, for seven solid days. I don't think it's possible. |

I would and could do this, but it's really only worth making somewhere around 10 K.

Re: Propbet: 10000 pushups in a week
Absolutely no way OP could do this in the amount of time given. If your friend gave you till next December to train for it ... maybe. You'd have to train just like a runner would, only using pushups instead of running. This bet has NOTHING to do with strength. I think that's what a lot of you guys are missing. It's completely about endurance, and very very few people routinely train their upper body for endurance.
I really wish we had some giant 2+2 mansion where we could do a giant prop bet with the morans who think that they could do this. I'd take as much action as I have money. |
