Default do I cbet this against a short stack??

It is only by 3rd orbit, so I have no reads yet on villain. He was so short anyway that I was not really paying attention to him anyway

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

UTG ($1.70)
MP ($7.45)
Hero ($9.95)
SB ($5.65)
BB ($12.80)

Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG calls $0.10, 1 fold, Hero raises to $0.4, 2 folds, UTG calls $0.30.

Flop: ($0.95) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero ???

Do I check or cbet this? I would not mind taking it down right here, but if I bet say about .80 and he goes allin I don't know what to do? I feel I am pot committed, but behind. Is it better to make a smaller cbet in this case say like .50 then if he pushes I can fold?

Or do I just peel one off, but then what is my plan for the turn? I feel like I will almost be in the same position and have no clue what to do. Since his stack is so small, i would just feel he is doing this with ATC.

it is an excellent texture for you, it is likely to have missed him. i'd CB and call an all in. note that if he reraises you all in, and he has hit a pair, or already has a pair, then you will win about 25% of the time anyway.
if he pushes you easily have the odds to call.

i seem to play alot with short stacks like this or calling stations where you often have to almost value bet ace high, as they often call with alot worse

I find that on this type of board most of the time you'll take it down. Usually if they push they've got some piece of the flop, or a PP. In this situation, it's entirely likely that your opponent has called PF with a K. You could be drawing to 3 outs. I cbet this 100% of the time unless I have a read that he just doesnt fold to a cbet, in which case I just give up unimproved. If you bet for around .65 2/3 PSB and he pushes you can fold knowing your most likely beat.

I find a lot of shorties look for any piece of a flop to get it in, or with any PP. Sure there are those who will just call down or shove with air but we can just take them to value town when we hit.
