$5NL - turn min c/r with TPGK
Villian here is pretty new and does not play a lot of hands and did not do anything that memorable, so the turn raise was a real surprise. Following the Baluga Theorem I just folded. I see this a lot, where it is always a min raise. And the min raise part of it always makes me want to continue because in my head I am thinking "well the pot odds look good". He cant have a flush or straight yet, so it seems reasonable that I am still good here, especially for only .50 more. But at the same time I cant call an AI on the river, so folding at least does not put me to a big decision on the river. And nothing makes me sicker then calling a c/r on the turn only to fold to the river push.
Do you guys treat the min c/r similar to a more standard c/r on the turn? Re: $5NL - turn min c/r with TPGK
I would check the turn as we beat, J8-, fdraws may check behind then we can check the river to get a bluff or bet it.
I'm not sure what turn-minraises mean @ NL5 but if in doubt Baluga is probably safe, and in this scenario with a weak hand that beats little a good move. I think you played this fine. |

Re: $5NL - turn min c/r with TPGK
theorem applies a lot more in a raised pot when you are the pfr
howev this is probably a fine play, i'd be like .7 on the turn though if I was going to bet. |
