I think it's fair to say that I'm not alone in being underwhelmed with what they've read in the report so far. The November elections basically showed that the majority of the public disapproves of the war in Iraq so I don't think the majority of the public had too many doubts about the state of affairs in Iraq FWIW.

I am glad to hear comments like that. Having been rather trenchant with the administration and Bush in particular, on these forums and, often accused of anti-americanism (sic). I am also relieved that some may hopefully see and call my comments about being lied to, and conned by, Bush, as, in fact, a support for a democratic USA, firmly standing up against a lying, and out of control, administration.

We know the majority of the public disapproves of the war. The report shows just how badly we have been misled. Bush is still not facing reality or being truthful with us; he is talking about "success" going slower than he would have liked. But he will have a harder time, because of the report, in maintaining this position. The report shows there is no success. 79% of the Iraqi people believe we have had predominantly a bad effect on the country and 61% approve of attacks on our troops.

The Study Group recommends taking out this factor by ensuring an equitable sharing of oil wealth amongs regions. You get oil dollars even if your region doesn't have oil.

[/ QUOTE ]
Who is going to enforce this equitable sharing??

[/ QUOTE ]I didn't say that all the Study Group's recommendations were practical or correct. I have not "endorsed" the Report, nor am I defending it here as a whole.
