Default 200nl combo draw

villain here is slammedfire, basically not a random donk. not much history, except that i sucked out on him on a pretty big pot earlier in the day at a different table. my question is the turn, should i be firing again here (which i did) or slowing down and taking a free card to my flush and gutshot?

One advantage about betting turn is he may fold a weak Jack // underpair... But... If you hit your flush, or gutter, it is more or less disguised, so taking a freecard on the turn wouldnt hurt either...

Just depends weather or not you feel like gambling :P

turn call is horrible

if he has AJ or something it is basically neutral EV but -EV by a lot if he's not just trying to spew.

if he has air on the turn he probably still check-folds the river because it looks like you're checking behind the turn in order to call the river for a showdown... if he wanted to bluff he'd just do it on the turn

How often is villian C/Ring the flop and then C/Fing the turn? I think that it's not often enough to warrand firing a second barrel. I think that if you want to test him you should 4-bet the flop with your draws, but once you call his flop C/R you should slow down on the turn and take the free card. Semibluffs are always a lot stronger with two cards to come rather than just one.

Amen to that. I don't think your fold-equity is that great betting. Take your free card.

Are you guys kidding? Check raise check, especially on a drawy board, usually means "Alright, you got me. I quit". It's pretty rare for me to see the nuts take this line (although I do it sometimes lol).

AllTheChease,
The thing is not weather you define your hand as a draw by checking but what is the outcome of betting/ checking the turn.
I believe we don't have enough fold equity here if we bet the turn (we may even get check raised) so it's beter to take the free card and try to hit our draw.
I believe in aggresion but this is a spot where it's not warranted IMO.
