SNG Sample Size
Hey --
Just started pounding some SNGs out, $20 on Tilt. I've played poker for a while....cash, tourneys, some full ring sngs. What I don't know is a good number to have under my belt before I know how I'm doing. Is it a lot less than full ring to have a decent sample size? I know you should have AT LEAST 1000 regular SNGs, is it less being your HU? Don't know why it would be different but feel it might? Thoughts? How many is on the very low end you think before you have a sample size large enough to draw some good data from?? I've played just under 100, I know that is waaaaaaay too few to have an idea. Thank you!! |

Re: SNG Sample Size
I'd be interested to see what others say about this, but if you find that you are just crushing people at the 20s then I can't imagine it would take that many sngs to realize that.

Re: SNG Sample Size
If you're really crushing them you should have a good idea where you stand at the 200-300 mark. There is less variance in these than in regular SNGs. Also the more you win (the higher your winrate is) the less games you will need to play to really figure out how big your edge is. If you're only winning like 55% of your games it might take 1k or more (not really sure) to get a sufficient sample size.

Re: SNG Sample Size
I have read a couple places that if you are winning 60% that is real solid??
Again, after at least a few hundred.... |

Re: SNG Sample Size
At the 22 turbos 60% is very good, 60% at the 20 regs is good.
Not sure what the top off point is, but the top few get like 66% tops in 33 turbos. |
