Re: Flop trips after reraising pf with AK.
Villain has 8K left and the pot is 6K, so if I bet, I would bet ~2K or less. That might give him the idea that he has FE and he might shove.
Anyhow, I'd probably check here and lead the turn for 2K (or maybe 1.9K). |

Re: Flop trips after reraising pf with AK.
shame you re-reaised pre-flop - it's gonna be hard to look weak at this point.
i think u gotta hope he's got precisely KQ. A check is gonna look like a monster, so mebbe with no knowledge of villain it may be worth open pushing and hope 99 calls |

Re: Flop trips after reraising pf with AK.
i don't like checking the flop and leading the turn - it looks way too much like exactly what it is
i think if you check the flop you should be checking the turn too - kinda like firing too barrels |

Re: Flop trips after reraising pf with AK.
I bet the flop trying to look weak...2k seems like it's too much of an invite for villain to stay in the hand...I don't know what an average player is like these 10r so it's difficult for me to speculate
checking might work too and meekly betting turn...might be just as inviting for a shove |

Re: Flop trips after reraising pf with AK.
As aplunk says, there's probably not much that's paying us off but I think the way ahead is to consider how we play our whole reraising range here, with these stacks. Or at least, how we'd be expected to play it.
So, how do you play AA? How do most people play KK/AK? How do we play AQ, TT-QQ or air? |

Re: Flop trips after reraising pf with AK.
I would make a continuation sized looking bet and hope something good happens (KJ or KQ). Some hands you just aren't gonna make money on.

Id make a c-bet about 2000 and hope for a raise!!! or at least a call

Value bet 1/3 - 2/3 pot, depending on what you think he will call.

Re: Flop trips after reraising pf with AK.
How about something that confuses the hell out of him? MIN BET! He has position on you, so if you min bet and he calls (for a min bet he probably will), you can check the turn and I think this does the best to convey weakness and he is most likely to bet with whatever cards he has. It throws an element of confusion in there so it doesn't scream "I HAVE A KING!" quite the same way that checking does. I never really min bet but this seems like a moment where it builds the pot slightly and messes with the opponent's head where checking does you no real good and likely gives your hand away, and a c-bet is likely to fold just about everything in a smart player's arsenal. Maybe it's stupid, but if you pull it off it probably will do wonders for your image in later hands trying to take decent sized pots for cheap.
