Default Re: PLO100 - turn the nut straight, value bet backdoor flushing river?

wow, am i in the twighlight zone here?

fold pre flop.

check river.

villan can easily have an inferior flush here.

i can understand opening up your range against those kind of stats but you still have the blinds to contend with. if the blinds happen to call, your hand doesnt play well multi way.

i think the play over all has a slight edge but why mess with small edges in plo? i think you can find a better spot.

Why would you not take a small edge? There's really no difference between making a -EV play and not making a +EV play.

The blinds are never calling a re-raise unless they have a really big hand. Plus I have a read to say that his hand is at the lower end of a very wide opening raise, and he's min-raising because he doesn't want to get re-raised, which definitely inclines me to re-raise him.

If there were 2 diamonds on the flop I'd definitely be checking behind on the river, but he clearly didn't call on the strength of backdoor diamonds on the flop, which suggests he has something else, and I beat everything except a diamond flush. Also, if he did hit a flush, it's unlikely he'd check it on the river because he knows there too much chance I'll check behind.

If I'm not making value bets like these, I'll start losing in tough games where other people are making them. Probably not so much of as an issue at this level because there are still plenty of bad players who don't even get the fundamentals right, so you don't notice the value you're losing.

i agree you have to bet a little for value but in the heat of the moment i might just of check behind im not sure if its that a massive impact on the EV.

If villain is overaggressive consider betting 20 $ and calling when he bluff pushes top two.

That play works amazingly often against donks who do not know the trick.

If you plan to fold to push bet more like 40 $.

Lol, how is this a good hand pre? I dont mind the reraise against an obvious donkey. Still it would be a standadrd fold.

Okay, I was wrong. Normally I play full ring Omaha. I can see why you guys value playing all AAxx hands in 6max Omaha. Fine.
Get over it.
