Default Call the Camera

Hello

This happened yesterday at my local casino. I thought it was very dirty what happened. 6/12 game. 3 players left to act on the turn. First player bets and everyone calls. The first player really liked his hand and he bet blind for 5th street. He did this at about the same time that the dealer was dragging in the chips from 4th street. The dealer made the mistake and dragged that blind bet in with the 4th street bet. Nobody catches it on 4th street. River comes but remember, the first player already thinks that everyone knows he bet dark. The second player assumes that the first player checked, so he bet. The 3rd player called and now the first player opens his hand and the dealer puts it into the muck because it looks like he didn't call the river bet. Everyone saw his hand but the cards can't be retrieved. There was a $144 main pot and a $80 side pot. The first player was arguing but he was not aggressive as he should have been. The second player won the side pot and the third player won the main pot. Player A asks the floorman to check the camera. They should have took the money out of play at that point but they let the other two players continue to play with it. 30 minutes later floorman comes and says that player 1 was right and he should have won the whole pot. The floorman did not havethe exact amount owed at that time, so he said he is going to count out how much each player owes. 20 minutes later, he comes back and says that player 2 owes him $80 and player 3 owes him $144. But now for the messed up part, player 3 lost all his chips. At first he sounded like he was going to buy some more chips and pay him, but then he started to get the feeling that he could get away with not paying. The floorman said that they could not make him go in his pocket for that money. Player A should have spoken up but he didn't. He stormed out of there cursing. The floorman said that they couldn't compensate for the mistake. An hour later I see player 3 seated at a different table. What a douch right? Anyway, anybody have any thoughts on this. Please don't tell me to use paragraphs.

1. Use paragraphs
2. What "casino"?
3. Player A should yell when dealer is dragging his "blind bet" into the center.
4. Player A should not let dealer touch his cards until he is awarded the pot.
5. Use paragraphs
6. How do you get a side pot of $80 when the river was bet & call? Sounds a bit fishy.

QFT

Also, as played, Player A is SOL. No way the third player (hereinafter referred to as "Player C") should have to go into his pocket to pay back Player A.

I did it for you. Paragraphs will get you better responses in the future, and this is such a great topic that it would be a shame if some people ignored it because its hard to read

I strongly disagree with blaming player A. It is completely standard for bets to scooped into the pot, so there is no reason to expect a player to speak up when this happens. It is also standard to place your hand face up in front of you to let the cards speak and the dealer do her job. Player A was screwed through no fault of his own. The floor mishandled this situation rather blatantly by not impounding the pot, and should make up the difference one way or another.

Of course this didn't happen so if player A is a standard tipper, perhaps he could refrain from tipping until the difference is achieved, all the while explaining his policy.

Where do you play?
They are never scooped until they are called.

Her job is to kill the loosing hands before touching the winning hand.
If you let her grab your cards before she has mucked the loosers, you are asking for trouble when she misreads your hand, mucks it, and nobody can verify what you had.
