Default Foxwoods $600 NLHE Tourney hand

Hand from todays tourney. Blinds are 50/100 no ante. I have about 5000 and villian 4000 at start of hand.

I have 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in mid position and make it 300 to go. Cutoff calls and everyone else folds.

Flop: K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

I bet 500 and he calls quickly.

Turn: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

I bet 700 and he again quickly calls.

River 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

I check and he fires out 1400.

Do you call or fold and any other comments on how I played the hand?

Presumably you checked to induce a bluff?
Clearly the quick calls suggests the draw.
Your line looks quite weak, esp. with the smallish turn bet. I think he will try and bluff you off your hand here enough to be an easy call, he has even left himself 1100 behind if you call.

He can't call fast with a king he's not sure about the kicker with, like KQ?

No he definately can, dont get me wrong. But I think this call will be profitable. There is also a chance you could check a king on the river to induce the same bluff.

I think he might check some of the weaker kings here and just see a showdown.

I took a long time with this call, so long another player called the clock on me. What it came down to was that i thought exactly what you said above, that if he had a weak king he would be just happy to get to showdown and not bet.

So I called and I heard the music to my ears "nice call".
Kudos to you for nailing it. He had T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] btw.

Well it is a good call.
Much easier for me because it doesnt mean anything to me.
Obv. he should really have raised somewhere, that turn is just too good to let go.
