Re: PokerFink\'s 2007 NFC Rankings (Week 5)
[ QUOTE ]
FG has played Baltimore and Steelers and Zona who is suprisingly good against the run this year. Larry Allen needs to retire. He was awesome last year but has been awful this year. FG also came into the year hurt. The o-line has been bad though. [/ QUOTE ] Gore also plays in an offense that has no verticle passing game, allowing opposing defenses to stack the box. Seattle can pass the ball, so Alexander should be a lot more effective than he is. |

Would they be better off giving Maurice Morris more snaps? At least he can catch right? I don't know why I hate the Seahawks. It must be the uniforms.

Morris hasn't done any better than Alexander this year (3.5ypc) but he's only gotten 8 carries. If I'm Holmgren, I'm giving Morris 10 carries/game for the next few weeks to see how he does. And yes, afaik, he can catch the ball. It's not like Morris will be any worse than Alexander, he could be better, and reducing Alexander's workload will help him as well. |

[/ QUOTE ]IIRC in week one he was isolated wide on Derrick Brooks (?) and caught like a 40 yard td pass. Morris has played a lot in the past and been unremarkable but he adds another dimension at least. SA can't catch at all. And now lacks explosiveness running. It really doesn't look like a couple game downswing. I wonder if they have any other options. |

Strange that Holmgren hasn't had a receiving threat at RB since Ricky Watters. He is old-school WCO.

Clearly the power shifts back to the NFC from the AFC:

Re: PokerFink\'s 2007 NFC Rankings (Week 5)
Why do you (Wes) have Chicago so high? They are 2-3, they have the worst offense in the NFL (or at least they are competing with SF for that distinction) and their defense is a wreck right now. It only ranks 17th in DVOA and this is the defensive side of their injury report:
D. Walker Day-to-Day Knee N. Vasher Doubtful Groin L. Briggs Questionable Hamstring C. Tillman Questionable Ankle A. Archuleta Probable Hand T. Harris Probable Knee B. McGowan Probable Shoulder B. Urlacher Probable Back D. Bazuin DE IR Knee M. Okwo LB IR Shoulder M. Brown S IR Torn left ACL D. Dvoracek DT IR Torn left ACL K. Payne S IR Broken right arm |

Re: PokerFink\'s 2007 NFC Rankings (Week 5)
Rankings based on your style (Division winners first, then in order of most likely to make playoffs). Created solely using FO playoff odds report.
Rank, Team, Mean wins. 1. Dal 11.3 2. GB 10.9 3. TB 10.1 4. Sea 9.9 5. AZ 9.2 6. Was 9.2 7. NYG 8.7 8. Phi 8.0 9. Car 7.3 10. Det 7.3 11. MN 7.1 12. Atl 6.0 13. Chi 6.3 14. SF 6.0 15. NO 4.7 16. STL 3.6 The reason Chi has a higher mean win projection then ATL but is still below them is that ATL has a better chance of winning their division then Chi. |
