Default .5/1 LO8 why did you bet the jack?

Without knowing the player or his cards it would just be a wild guess as to his reason or reasons. There are too many possibilities. The SB may know why he bet, or he may not.

On the flop, I would just check and see how the action plays out. Could give you more information than if you bet out right off the bat.

hmm... I actually felt pretty good about the fold. Like I said, these guys were passive. What kind of hand likes that jack? It didn't add ANY draws at all, flush straight low or otherwise, so he can't be betting for any of those reasons. Thus I figured it must have made his hand in some way, or that he already really liked the flop and has now decided to show it...

He could have a large range of hands (especially in the SB) that he now thinks are good. If he REALLY liked his hand, he would have checkraised the turn. Or the river.

You have a set and a low draw. If only the 2 of you see the river, I think you're a favorite to scoop. Consider raising the turn to make sure that this happens.

I think this may have been one of those "had to be there" spots in which case there wouldn't be anything to discuss and I apologize for posting. But I wasn't sure, so I posted to see what people thought. In this hand, the fold worked out great for me as SB and button capped both the turn and a non-low blank river, and SB showed JJxx for the scoop over button's 63xx.

Trying not to be results oriented though, and I'm open to the possibility that I may have just had a lucky guess on this hand. I posted to get opinions to see if that may have been the case, which it does seem to be what people are saying. But damn I felt like a freaking genius on this hand... well, as much of a genius as I could feel like while playing .5/1 omaha when I'm used to playing 15/30 hold'em...
