SAGE system-possible use
Hi all,
I just want to know if this system is also appliable to another heads-up situation than the final heads-up(like when there is 3 players left for example) I know that it shouldn't be used then, but i was wondering if it still could give me an edge, so small would it be... |

this is what i'm talking about. ICM is fine, but i don't have anything to compute +EV or -EV while playing...Fine to review my hand history. This can be used real-time. |

Re: SAGE system-possible use
so to clarify the question, if let's say there are 3 players left at a table and if you find yourself heads-up against another player would it be valuable to use this system to make a decision?
although it's not made for that purpose, i know that, but i was just wondering if it would still give me an edge on the other player. Do i make sense? |

Re: SAGE system-possible use
Did you even read the article? This is taken directly from it:
[ QUOTE ] When does the SAGE System not apply? 1. When there are more than two players left. For example, you may ask: "Suppose that we're threehanded, the button folds, and I'm the small blind. What should I do?" The system we present here cannot answer that question. Here is why: When you are threehanded, there are two more prizes to be contested (second and first; everybody is already guaranteed third-place money). In this situation, the value of the chips is not fixed; that is, the value of a single chip in your stack may be different than the value of that same single chip in an opponent's stack. An exception to this would be a one-table satellite with a single prize: a seat in the target event. In this case, all that matters is the stack sizes. [/ QUOTE ] even when the button folds, you are not dealing with chip-linear utility like in a heads up game. |
