Default Limit v. No Limit?

Recently called Venetian poker room, and they said NL has pretty much taken over from limit in their room.

Do people think NL is just going to take over? Why play one rather than the other?

My feeling is that people will only play NL if they can practice on-line, it's too scary otherwise for most people otherwise. Because it's so hard to get started playing on-line now for U.S. users, I think NL will decrease in popularity in B&M.

Default Re: Limit v. No Limit?

No limit is popular in the same way that roulette is popular there is a subset of the playing population that likes the thrill of shoving hands allin preflop or on the flop and the swings it brings or the gamble of picking a number and shoving money in. NL will continue to dominate because most books and television is aimed at that audience. NL will decline only as poker as a whole declines.
