Re: Let kings go?
[ QUOTE ]
What do think about playing this hand? 11 of 45 players remaining. 7 places get paid. Average stack $6,100 Blinds 200/400, Ante 25 SB $11,235 BB (me) $8,035 A $12,265 B $4,690 C $3,255 I hold KcKs. A and B fold. C raises $800 to $1,200. SB raises $2,400 to $3,600. Should I fold, call, raise, or go all-in? I went all-in, C folded, SB called. SB won the showdown with AA. [/ QUOTE ] OK, lets think about the facts at hand... You are playing poker, presumably on a computer. You have KK. 45-person SNG, presumably stars, presumably then buyin is no more than $12. So, in order of what your actions should be: 1. Trip over yourself pushing. 2. Get pissed about having KK v. AA 3. Get actual hand history 4. Use converter 5. Post here 6. Post in BBV when everyone tells you too 7. Laugh/cry when BBV rips you a new one 8. Never second guess yourself for pushing KK into any action in any tourney with the name "sit-n-go" in it again. |

Re: Let kings go?
1 in 24 times that you get KK at a full table someone else will have AA. So the odds are in your favor.
According to Mr Dan Harrington, you should play KK like AA, because trying to guess whether you are up against AA, AK, QQ or JJ is impossible and will cost you losts of $$$. According to Mr. Phil Gordon when you get raise, re-raise, reraise all in it's AA making the 3rd raise. Now you know what I've learned. GL |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I'm going to tell you to post this in BBV because you're going to get even harsher treatment there. [/ QUOTE ] Much better. [/ QUOTE ] Haha, I guess I'm losing my reputation as an argumentative [censored] (if I even had one to begin with). Well played. [/ QUOTE ] Getting soft in your old age? [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] Steve [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, totally. My lower back is still killing me from the brutal [censored] chairs at the WPT Borgata (and my brutal [censored] posture when I play live, I guess). Oh, I'm 23 btw. |

Tom, Well, Silver hit most of the major points I see. So let me just say this... please read the FAQ at the top of this forum. It will assist you in your future here in the MTT forum. And to answer your question, you did nothing wrong in this hand. You just got unlucky holding KK. It happens to the best of us. Folding KK pre-flop because you are afraid someone else has Aces is a great way to lose tons of money in the long run. The only way you should ever fold KK pre-flop is if you are really, really deep stacked and a complete rock puts in like the fourth raise or something. Then, you could consider it. In this situation here though, you're just giving money away if you do it. Poker is about making correct decisions, and results be damned. You made the right one. Welcome to the forums. --TFGoose edit: for grammar [/ QUOTE ] OR in a Satellite situation... |

Re: Let kings go?
Welcome, we all make mistakes on our first post don't give up. I think you learn more when you post hands than when you reply. Also look for situations were it was a close call. For example, you have the queen high flush or the low end of the st8 or trips on a flush board. These are the hands that will define you as a player.
KK losing to AA is going to happen let it go and move on. |
