Re: 300 plus MTT... how do you play this raggity flush draw?
[ QUOTE ]
I don't like check/call on that flop very much. [/ QUOTE ] I think if you like the lead on this flop the lead and the possible reraise all-in is the move... [/ QUOTE ] Mehh... if I get reraised there I think it's a laydown. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] i'm w/ mikey on this one. you can't call if villian has a higher flush, you're drawing to 1 out. [/ QUOTE ] You don't know this before hand. And he has HALF his chips in the pot. I can't believe people are saying fold here. [/ QUOTE ] it doesn't matter how many chips he has in the pot, when you're beat, you're beat! [/ QUOTE ] The board could have given the villian a straight, a set, or an ace high flush draw. There's no way you can say with more than 50% certainty that he has the flush there plus he is getting enough pot odds to call. It is the difference between having a stack of 3500 versus 14000+. This is an easy call every time. |

wpr101, you're not getting the 43:1 odds you need to hit your 1-outer. easiest fold ever.

"sometimes you just have to know your beat and lay it down"
like dmk said, you aren't getting pot odds to call to hit your straight flush. |

Re: 300 plus MTT... how do you play this raggity flush draw?
[ QUOTE ]
i wanted to see the turn cheap w/ my heart draw and trap him w/ a check if i hit, knowing that if i missed i would've gotten away cheap (and potentially could see another free card if had trash and checked) and if i hit i would get payed off on turn or river (depending on how much he bet i would have potentially check called him on turn... running the risk of him having a higher heart draw so that i could stack him... [/ QUOTE ] haha, what was i thinking, i wasn't gonna smooth call a bet on turn... i did hit my flush and i min-raised so i could make him pay to draw to boat or higher flush and probably induce an all in... |
