Default 1-2 nl picking a horrible spot to make move on flop??

villain seems pretty tight/weak and i doubt he will call w/o an ace, is this just a horrible place to make this move??

I don't like this at all. Since you're in position, I think it would be better to flat call his flop bet and reevaluate on the turn. If he's weak-tight he's probably checking the turn to you without an ace and there are a ton of scarecards you can represent on the turn. If you call the flop and he fires out another substantial bet on the turn, he's probably not folding and we get away cheaply. By raising the flop we're basically risking $50 to win $47 and I think you'll agree this flop connected with him a substantial portion of the time, whereas by floating him (assuming he is weak-tight and won't double barrel, meaning we can confidently fold the turn when he does lead into us) we're risking $15 to win the same $47.

don't make moves against shortstacks, he already put almost half his stack in and he'll probably feel pot committed and call with KK
