I haven't looked at the detail of the Binion's tournament, but I didn't know that multi-day $150 tournaments existed.

i'm not sure about binion's but i'd be surprised if they were two-day events.

the venetian tournaments being two day kinda sucks; i'll have a lot of off days but not that many back-to-back. In some cases i'd be fine with skipping a wsop event i planned to play but in general i'd rather not and playing a tournament hoping not to make a ft seems silly.

i agree with the op as far as specialist tourneys go, especially within a reasonably similar buyin range; it'd be dumb for the venetian plo to be the same day as one of the smaller wsop plos; same day as the 10k probably wouldn't matter.

I would tend to agree with you here but....
The first limit holdem tourney they have is $150 bucks...
You start with either 4k or 5k in chips...
30 minute blinds with 15 minute breaks between each 3 rounds and the blind increases are not gigantic at all...
Seems to me this could easily turn into a 2 day event if say 150 people or more signed up.

There is a story on pokernews.com that sayes thet binons did this on purpouse. if they are 1 day events this makes sense because you could use it for some practice or even a sat. I know a friend of mine that plans to play in the wsop plo event now is going to play in the $150 plo event the day before the wsop.

I've heard the Binion's tourneys will be 1-day events, and I know that the Ventetian Deep Stack series will play either to the final table or 2 AM and then conclude the following day.

Yes. This is exactly what I'm doing - using a Friday Binion's event as a warm up for my Saturday WSOP event.

I primarily play O/8. Will be heading to Vegas a day early to play the Binion's O/8 tourney prior to the WSOP tourney the next day.

I did the same thing last year by playing the O/8 tourney at the Bike the day prior and driving to Vegas the next day. Followed up playing the O/8 WSOP tourney by playing the Orleans O/8 tourney later that week.
