I think I just got suckered at polomor in San Diego. I have no idea how to play NL so I decided to play in the 10-20-40 NL game. Yes 3 blinds. Everyone is out of there mind in my opinion so I sit and promptly lose 3k. So i want to play something different so we play 20-40 Pot limit Omaha High. This isnt too hard you use 2 not 4 cards and if you have 3 cards in your hand that are the same for example KKK4 then that is not good and you should muck pre flop. This was an expensive lesson. =( Anyhow I got all my chips in 3K with the nut straight on the flop and a guy named Jose a doctor from TJ south of the border raises me with a king high flush draw and makes it on the turn. I dont really get this Omaha stuff. Do I have the worst of it if I flop the stright on the flop? Oh well I have convinceed everyone that I am crazy and tomoroww looks like I am going to get some 10K freezeout HU action. Sigh. Maybe mini bet is more for me. I plan on only losing 30K int he NL game trying to learn it and I will see how long that lasts me.

This must be why I run so good. I lose the absolute minimum when behind: A MP player raises, and I threebet AQs. Everyone folds, and he 4 bets, and I call. Flop looks beautiful as it is AQT rainbow. He bets, I think about raising, but think I will learn more about his hand by calling, since he will check the turn with KK and JJ, still bet with AA, QQ, and I guess TT, and will continue with AK as well. He leads some low turn blank, I call, and does the same on another low card that adds no excitement. I call, and he shows TT. My bits of weak passive play always seem to be at the right time...

Crazy Mike,

You are going to go broke FAST in that game. It is an action game but there are plenty of guys that make tons of money in that game, its well known in San Diego. You were a favorite with the straight in PLO (unless rarely he had a sick draw with his other cards like a set and straight and flush draw) but probably not a huge favorite. Jose the doctor is a rich fish but isn't the worst player, he'll play 400/800 etc. at Commerce and lose a lot, I've played with him a couple times.

I can't stress enough how BIG that NL game plays. You could lose 30k there in one night if you brought that much.

if that 10/20/40 is uncapped 30k is a drop in the bucket.

also, if you're serious on that plo thing, those games are easier to come by in vegas.

Had a beauty of a hand in the 20 game at the borgata. Total lagtard opens in middle position I 3-bet 88 otb. Flop A98r he c/c. Turn 9 he c/c again. River A, he donks, I puke and fold.

oddly running like utter garbage for 3 months has turned me into a total azzhole at the table when I take a beat. Dunno what my problem is but I've been a real jerk lately, which kinda sucks as I usually am pretty nice and have fun even when I'm not doing that well. 250 hours of break even at live limit hold'em is probably enough to turn mother teresa into a douchebag.

Mike call me if you are playing there and it is just 10/20, I think I'm gonna start playing that game during the week simply because there is nothing else worth playing but I can't play when it's 20/40+. If you're going to incinerate 30k playing NL (which you are basically guaranteed to do btw) I strongly suggest playing me HU Stud 8 or some other games of my choice where you honestly have a much better chance.

I've played quite a bit with Jose in LHE and if he plays NL at all like he plays limit it should be pretty easy to just wait forever until you can trap him in a gigantic pot. He tries to be way too tricky just to make cool plays and will self destruct pretty regularly.

Also just got back from Commerce in fantastic record time because I left at like 3am and it turns out there isn't much traffic at that time. Incredibly enough things went pretty well, only two things to complain about.

1. Sandwich I ate earlier was far too toasted and my mouth is all cut up.

2. Pokerbob sat in my game and I didn't know it was him until he was walking away and Private Joker told me it was him. This might not sound important, but Pokerbob is one of the people I wish I was. After wishing I was rich and famous or a great poker player or one of a variety of cool imaginary tv/cartoon characters there are only a few other people I would want to be than Pokerbob (he knows Schneids). Seriously though, I wish I had known it was him before he left because I want to meet him. Walking the 50 feet from my 60 game to the 1/2 he moved to was of course completely out of the question.

i'm guessing you haven't played the 25/50 at hollywood park. more action than any other mid-limit LA game IMO.
