Default Ajo on the button vs. calling stations

I think I got giddy eyed over the two calling station/donators.

Full Tilt Poker, $0.25/$0.50 Limit Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
LegoPoker Hand History Converter

Hero (BTN): 18.20 BB
SB: 20.60 BB
BB: 21 BB 55/1/1
UTG: 19.40 BB
MP: 44.60 BB
CO: 49.70 BB 53/1/1

Pre-Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (BTN)
2 folds, CO calls, Hero raises, SB folds, BB calls, CO calls
Bad spot raising Ajo vs two calling stations?

Flop: (6.4 SB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 Players)
BB checks, CO checks, Hero bets, BB calls, CO calls

Turn: (4.7 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 Players)
BB checks, CO bets, Hero calls, BB calls
I'm bewildered as to why I called and did not fold or raise. Which would have been the better play? I'm almost positive that one, most likely CO, was playing a weak ace(limped pf, called flop, then bet ace)

River: (7.7 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 Players)
BB bets, CO calls, Hero ?

I feel inclined to call but my gut tells me to me I'm beat.

At first.. I was like, meh, such a standard hand until the river.

On turn, CO reps the Ace, which is fine because we are still ahead/even w/ his range.

On river, BB leads saying that he can beat the Ace. This is mostlikely a fold and a def fold against thinking players.

Is that a read? You can fold this hand.

Preflop and flop looked good.

Pf you had position with a good hand to raise for value against loose players.

Flop, your oppponents checked to you indicating weakness. You had an inside straight draw and 2 overcards if called, so your continuation bet seemed good.

I would have raised the turn, as I suspect that you probably had the best hand.

When the BB suddenly wakes up and bets the river, it suggests that top pair is no longer good. Perhaps he just made a straight or strange 2 pair hand.

Nonetheless, I would have made a crying call on the river as the pot was big by then.

donkers? Do they like to bet with made hands or stupid bluffs? Do they like to checkraise when they have a good hand? Are they weak? That is kind of key here.

I am raising the turn in most cases.

Where your thinking seems a little off is that you think it's bad to bet against calling stations. But it's fine if you are ahead of the range of cards they are calling with. You don't just bet to fold others out. You bet when you're winning to maximise your profit. So preflop is okay, flop is okay, and raising the turn would be okay. Yeah, sometimes CO has A7, and sometimes BB calls two cold with his KTo, but mostly they have A4 and QT and you score a nice pot, which you built by making them put money in with worse hands.

* grunch *

Preflop:
Raise everytime. Try to isolate loose limper and if the other one hops along you have position and usually the better hand.

Flop:
Bet is essentially to get a free card on the turn - even on that drawy board. Especially if both call we are not ahead UI on turn and will not get better hands to fold by betting the turn.

Turn:
Now we have a hand - raise for value and in small hope of driving out BB with bottom pair or similar.

River:
You have under-presented your hand on the turn so I'd call expecting to be reverse-dominated or lose to two-pair or slowplayed monster from BB. Were the villains any tighter and this could be a fold. And this is shorthanded so I call lighter than in full ring.

grunching.

Pre-Flop
Raise is ok. They are passive, you have a decent hand, and you have position.

Flop
As played.

Turn
Should raise to make BB face 2 bets. But I'm smelling some 2 pair here, like AT, A7.

River
awful card. fold could be good.

I think the question at hand is whether to raise a calling a station (on the turn) or to call a bet from a calling station (on the river). This is significantly different than into a calling station.
