This was my first thought. If he is capable a floating and or raising the flop here with air, I don't see what we gain by leading here.

Just because he's capable of floating & raising with air doesn't mean he always will. You reraised big preflop & have a tight-weak image. He'll think AK, AA and KK are a big part of your range and won't try to push you off those.

cbet here because it's cheap and if you win the pot 50% of the time it's nice. Just because you're not winning the pot 80-90% of the time doesn't mean cbetting is -ev.

A check-raise is just a bigger bluff. It's a lot more expensive, but works more often. To figure out which type of bluff is better would require some maths, but I doubt a check-raise wins here.

Good points.

However, if he does veiw us as "weaktight," is possible that it may increase his tendancey to raise/float here(esp given that we are 200bb + deep)? i.e. he thinks he can muscle us off a hand here using big stack and pos.

Or is it safer to assume that he should pick up on the fact the our 3bet range is narrow here, and thus the flop has likely hit us hard and it less likely we will get away from our hand?

a lot of advice in this thread sucks.

either fold or call down for your stack. bet folding is like burning money.

i bet/call, and check/call all the way down.

if you arent comfortable doing that, then check/fold the flop.

db,
phil does not give a [censored] what your range is here.

tdb,

phil's not being 100% reckless postflop, he's trying to win money, but he's more trying to have fun and most importantly to win every pot. So to answer your question, yeah, he cares what my range is, but not huge amounts.

So lets say I bet flop and he calls. I then check turn and pot it $200 and he bets $100, I call. River pot is $400 and I have ~$350 left in my stack, how much can i call on the river? Can I block the river?

EMC,

I figure he's more liekly to float the flop than raise the flop

CTKid,

What you just wrote isn't helpful in the slightest. If I had AAA I might bet, I might check....but so what?? He doesn't know this and I doubt he even cares.

I'd lead flop for $65, if he calls, lead turn for 3/4 pot. if he raises flop, 3bet...unless he has bottom set he most likely has nothing much and you have a weak image.
