If you can count cards it's a great game - If you can't then it's a very difficult one to play above break even.

If you can count cards, have a sufficient bankroll, can find a game that's actually beatable, and have the stomach to handle the variance, it's a great game. Without counting, blackjack is a sucker's game. It's just not quite as much of a sucker's game as most others in the casino. With counting, your edge is still very small relative to your variance. If you are playing for small stakes, you need to tip very little or not at all, or else you will be giving away enough money to put you back into -EVland. The bad runs will still happen if you are counting. Your worst sessions will be the ones where you frequently get favorable counts, and therefor bet big, but don't get the right cards.
