It wasn't that bad, really.

[/ QUOTE ]Hi Pete - I agree.

[ QUOTE ]
Then other people ran with it and joked around a bit about how ATROCIOUS everyone's play is.

[/ QUOTE ]That's about how I saw it too. It was no big deal.

I stepped in to stop what I thought might get out of hand.

I'd love to re-post the originally deleted post so that everybody could see it for what it is, but in my opinion it is insulting to one of our posters. I don't want him insulting anybody else and I don't want anybody else insulting him either.

That's all. No big deal.

I have corresponded with both of the principal parties. They're both nice guys and it's just something that happened.

LOL, Troll, I think you played it fine. Immediately after I bet the turn, I wished I hadn't though. I think a C/R is way better as it does the same when you hit and wins me an extra $30 when you don't.

Hi Iggy – Your poem (or parody of a rap narration) seems directed at me. I’m not sure how to respond.

I hoped you would come around and eventually see me as what I am, no threat to you, and perhaps even an asset to your forum. [ QUOTE ]
F*ck the PLO-lice coming straight from the underground.
A young Omaha player got it bad cause my title's brown.
And that's the other color so PLO-lice think they have the authority to ban a minority.

[/ QUOTE ] I have no plans to ban you (or anyone).

F*ck that sh*t cause I ain't the one for a punk moderator with a badge and a gun to be deletin' on and thrown in jail.
We could go toe to toe in the middle of a cell.
F*ckin' with me cause I'm a good player
With a little bit of cash in my bankroll.

[/ QUOTE ] I hope you don’t think I’m harassing you. That certainly is not and never has been my intent. [ QUOTE ]
Searchin my posts, looking for the flaming

[/ QUOTE ] I don’t search your posts looking for flaming. I read your posts with interest hoping to learn something from you. You’re one of the best posters on the forum.
[ QUOTE ]
Thinking every poster is selling and spamming.

[/ QUOTE ]
You cannot really believe I think “every poster is selling and spamming” – or even many posters are, can you?

I have been and plan to continue being straightforward and forthright in the moderation of this forum. I want people to be able to post questions and answers regarding tactics and strategy and other matters related to Omaha without fear or dread of being ridiculed, insulted, or put down by another poster.

I’m truly sorry if, in trying to make this forum a better place for posters, my tactics offend you or anyone else. Those tactics have included, and will continue to include, deleting an occasional post.

I see the role of forum moderator as closely related to the chairperson of a committee, to keep order among members of the committee and to keep the committee on track. And that is what I am trying to do.

I've now lost 18 buyins within last 5000 hands or so playing micro stakes $0.05/$0.10. It's clear now that I'm a big fish even in that limit. The biggest mistakes seems to occur in deep stack situations, so I either loose big or win small. Should I start shortstacking or buying in half (50BB or less) to avoid difficult turn and river decisions? I would appreciate any suggestions here because at the moment I see no perspective playing PLO at all.

Nah Buzz, don't take it the wrong way. The joke was directed as much at the people complaining as it was at you. Once I got the idea to use "F*ck tha police", I just filled in words that sounded similar to the lyrics without much care for their specific meaning.

You probably didn't need to edit anything in the LC thread and they probably didn't need to complain about it, but either way, I certainly don't feel "threatened". I was basically just laughing at the "serious business" nature of another conflict between the posters and the mod.

Hi Nigul - You posted this under my post, else I wouldn't answer it.

I don't know what you can do to turn your game around.

There's a saying in coaching.<ul type="square">A good coach wins with good players.
A bad coach loses with good players.
Nobody wins with bad players.[/list]If you adopt a short stack strategy, you'll take away some of the skill element of the game. That would seem to me to be somewhat to your advantage against more skilled opponents.

But if your opponents really are more skilled card players, I think they'll still find a way to beat you.

If you enjoy the game and can afford it, why don't you experiment and see what works best for you? However, don't gamble with more than you can comfortably afford to lose.

Finally, if you compulsively lose your money gambling, seriously consider getting help at gamblers anonymous.
