Default An Anthology of 2+2 Wisdom on MTT\'s (Original Thread)

When I first joined this forum, I asked for links to some of the 'classic' MTT posts. I got referred to a lot of excellent posts, and since I've been here, I've seen a lot more. I've benefited a lot from the gems of wisdom that have appeared in this forum, and I'd like to give something back, but I'm just not a good enough player to produce such a gem on my own. So I thought it might be helpful to others who are new here if I collected some of the posts I found most helpful in one place. A couple of caveats:

1. THIS IS NOT OBVIOUSLY NOT EXHAUSTIVE! I haven't been here long, so I'm sure there are plenty of excellent posts I don't know about and haven't included here. I hope people will reply to this post with their favorites, and help me and others find these pearls.

2. Don't be offended if you aren't on here. See above. I know there are some excellent players and posters on this forum who aren't represented. That just means I haven't been lucky enough to come across one of your great posts yet. Instead of getting angry, please refer me to them.

3. I know Jurollo has talked about having the mods collect and organize the best posts to come out of this forum, and when they do, I'm sure their collection will be much better than mine. But in the meantime, here are my favorites:

All I can say is thank you, tremendous stuff. I really appreciate this, and I'm sure all the rest of the 2+2 community will, too.

Awesome contribution. This is exactly the format I've thought about in terms of an FAQ - themes with links to all of the excellent posts of the past.

If anybody cares to add some additional themes/links please do so. You can also access the archives and link to posts there.

I'll re-post this as a sticky and will certainly give credit to those who have contributed as a small ongoing token of our appreciation.

Irieguy's The Difference Between Success and Failure - This is what Gigabet was responding to in the above referenced thread

eMarkM's cards vs. situations post - This is the post to read for the various 'I always make it near bubble with a small stack' posters

Clarkmeister - Running bad vs. Playing bad - Not tourney specific, but very good post

John Hurst - Reviewing tourney results - From the STT forum - I love this post

A good point here is that there are some great posts that will benefit us as MTT players in other forums. Those would be great resources as well.

Oh, and if you can suggest what theme a post should be attached to that would be great. See if it applies to an existing theme and if not, suggest a new one.

Here's one category I meant to include originally. The tone of these threads makes it sound like this was a pretty frequent debate at some point, so I imagine others can add some good links here. Among other things, I couldn't find the Raymer and Phillips posts referenced here.

The Early Stages: Accumulate or Survive

Che Argues That Survival During the Early Stages is Not an End in Itself

Woodguy Isn't Good Enough to Pass Up Small Edges Early (And Neither Are You)

I've also heard a lot about Raymer's original post on the Stop and Go, but couldn't find a link for it....
