How to deflate an airbed

Jeez, I know this isn't the place to post but I couldn't find anyother place to post it in. Plus, its a pretty huge beat that I can't figure out this simple machine.

So I open the closer on the air bed, put my pump to deflate, put the pumper in the closer, and turn it on, but its not deflating. Anyone with an airbed please help.
