i would play it just like this at these stakes that board is wayyyy too good for aa to fold.

Read the OP again - villain has 88 here and has shown a great eagerness to felt that hand for some reason.

Hand itself is fine - even with the smallish flop raise, you still get it all in by the river, which is the goal here.
