Nice board by Alfie. Full extension and everything. Well done.

You guys have no call to complain about the officiating after those two cheezy penalties - late in the third and then in overtime.

Then again, Buffalo should prolly just start declining them since Ottawa's the only one who gets any chances when Buffalo has the man advantage.

[/ QUOTE ]

I didn't complain. I just said it was a nice board.

They need to let the refs use their own discression on whether a player is being impeded or whether its just incidental to the play.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think that's what they do. The refs just have problems using proper discretion as they do in all sports. I do think hockey is maybe the hardest to officiate (tough to distinguish betwen a "dive" and legit penalty in real speed). Some of the stuff they get wrong is still baffling though.

He didn't intend to board and he had no control over his body at that point in time. Wasn't even close to being dirty. Easily not a penalty.

This is like the 3rd time I've watched hockey... ever.

[/ QUOTE ]

You sure picked the right game!

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah I sure did. I missed the tying goal because I was watching the Yankees. Now I am using the picture-in-picture and flipping back and forth.

You know a game is great when it makes me flip back and forth from a Yanks game.

I think last year's playoffs were better... when Buttman had his reign of terror. Now, it's getting ridiculous. ANYTIME the stick is off the ice = penalty. They hardly call non-stick penalties.

All sports are pretty retarded when it comes to referees and their unions though. Games would be called the way they should be if they actually had to worry about keeping their job. I also hope the NHL installs some sort of technology to decide a goal and quit with the 'inconclusive' video angles.

You obviously can't put 2+2 together.

Huh? I'm not going to search to find it, but I know you said that a player needs to be in control of their sticks, knees, etc. in regards to the Cheechoo/McSorley conversations earlier. Now you say Alfredsson didn't intend to board him, so it's not boarding. WTF...that's 2+2 not equaling 4.
