I'm coming back to sngs after a few months of not playing poker. So I'm sure I'm a little rusty. On the turn, I assumed he made his straight and called hoping to fill up on the river. On the river, I know the best I can do is split, but do you really fold there? Aside from JT, there isn't any hand he would bet the turn that beats me now.

J9,j8,QJs,j7s,j7o,JT,KJs. I'd lean towards folding since you still have a healthy stack but I'm not sure.
Pot the flop next time!

I guess I assumed most of those hands would have bet the flop if they were going to bet. Note to self- never assume that stuff.

Right, I was just listing the "possibilities", & that's why I said I lean towards folding but wasn't completely sure. Results aside, you're right he could lead with the TP hands there or even some others, but it's very player dependent.

first of all welcome back;

2nd nice avatar

3rd this same hand happened to me yesterday, I called, he had the higher straight... so honestly I am not sure... but if I ever have the higher str8 when board is a str8 I am shoving. I don't think I would shove that hand if I my hand was only as strong as the str8 on the board... tough spot

You do not want to call "hoping" to split. On the turn, the odds seem just about right in line to fill-up or better...but your stack is getting destroyed. I don't even know if I like calling that turn. I would too, but is there any thought to folding?
