All NBA and D league, All US college, All foreign club teams, and definitely a decent amount of playground players and gym rats.

I think Colin was probably pretty close. 5,000 < x < 10,000 sounds good.

Who is the 10th best female player of all time anyway? I know there are at least 5 or 6 that could have probably played men's college ball and done well, but I bet even the 10th best is a whole world worse than the top 5 or so.

im pretty sure that any good high school team could wipe the wnba's best off of the floor.

I wouldn't say "any" good high school team, but I believe "many" good high school teams would beat most WNBA teams.

1. Talented local gym rats would dominate the women's game.

2. It's be about a 30pt beatdown on average, with the Bucks probably scoring 90-100 points.

[/ QUOTE ]

definately the best answer

you do realize that talented gym rats can dunk and are stronger and faster..

Some of the worst of the D1 teams are REALLY freaking bad.
Talking about some of those 3-25 type teams.

And I've seen some D3 teams who would EASILY lose to a good high-school team.

I don't think these crappy D1 and D3 teams would beat a WNBA team and I'm not entirely convinced that they would beat the best womens college teams either.

I think some of the people who would think ALL mens college teams aren't considering the very worst of the worst.

Head asplode. I think any guys college team from a school with more than about 100 guys could beat the WNBA HOFers in their prime.

Bob, you really think that a WOMEN'S D1 team could beat even the shittiest men's D1 team?

There would be way more than 5,000 guys who would be top 10 in the women's game. Also, no chance that the best college women's team would beat any D1 men's team.

I played as a practice player with the Stanford Women's basketball team for four years as an undergrad. They were ranked in the top 5 in the country for most of the time. When we played guys vs. girls we almost always won and most of the time by a 15 point margin. I think only three or four of the guys I played with even started on their high school basketball teams. If you have two pretty good male players they will dominate the women. I don't think some of you guys realize the gap in athleticism between top female athletes and your average guy athlete.

I've also played pick-up in the off season against Sue Bird and Ruthie Bolton (although she was pretty old). They were both pretty solid, but they would lose 80% of the time if they came to the rec center on a good night.

I play mixed tournaments* for fun every once in a while. The one thing women can be our equal in is shooting % but due to the difference in athleticism with men being GARGANTUAN, good luck creating your own shot and even more good luck not being rejected a gazillion times.

I have to agree with Taraz.

* there are some rules in place to balance the playing field

Remember Alan Morrison ?

No, I don't. Jog my memory.

Doh!! ADAM Morrison.

2 years ago, Adam Morrison, 6'9"-ish power-forward,
with Larry Bird like shooting ability from Gonzaga,
battled with J.J.Reddick ( the ridiculously accurate
Duke shooting guard ) for the NCAA scoring title.

Gonzaga lost in the elite 8, I believe, and Adam promptly
laid down on the court crying.

I suck at basketball. The only thing I got going for me is that I'm 6'2" so I'm taller than most people. I played alot of pick up ball in high school but could not make the team.

I went to Texas in the late 80's. They won a national championship in 85 and had a national player of the year in Clarissa Davis. They would play pick up games at the gym and I had no problem hanging with them. If I can hang with them then there are easily 10,000 men that could too.

I have no doubt in my mind that my high school team with 3 guys over 6'7 would beat any wnba team.
