Default Games are gone dry as %&*$

I sat down to 8 tables this morning (ipoker network) and looking around, there was not even 1 person doubled up. I had been playing on party but the connection wasn't good so I switched to ipoker. Party was the same tho, across 8 tables there was 1 person, maybe 2 doubled up. On ipoker over half my oppononents were on at least 3 other tables with me, one table contained 5 other multitablers. WTF? I play from 3/6 and 2/4, with a bit of 1/2 thrown in for good measure, used to play 5/10 but stopped when I saw it losing value. I've been playing full time for the last two years and was aiming for a big take this year (+$250,000, last year was $180,000) but I didn't forsee the games changing so much so quick.

I've noticed things getting progressively worse over the last few months and it's come to breaking point now.
The fish are almost all gone. Maniacs are now extremely rare, a standard fish a year a go would be classed as a maniac now. No-one really gets stacked with TPTK anymore. The games have just tightened up so much. It's like people have finally found the "Fold" button. I don't know what it's like at 5/10 and up anymore but on the lower levels I think all the value has been just about squeezed out at this stage.

What's the general consensus on the state of the games these days?

Fish and maniacs dont play on weekday mornings. The "morning" downtime depends on the demographic of the site. My advice is to play when and where the fish play. You can still find them, you just may have to look harder.

That they have become significantly harder and less profitable.

even party 400nl is pretty tough these days imo. im relatively new to online poker but i often find myself at a table with at least 3 other reg's anywhere from 18/14/3 to 27/21/4 or thereabouts.
now 200nl on party, thats a different story

I pretty much sit around playing and hoping that a second online poker boom happens sometime soon. for those of us who have nutted out the tougher games, i can imagine it'll feel like a money tree has been planted in our backyard.

now lets all pray together...
