Great subtle moments in movies - Page 10

I'm pretty sure that obvious non-verbal acting isn't really that subtle.

Major League, probably not known for its subtlety, has a a classic scene. Berrenger, Sheen, and Snipes are at a restaurant when Berrenger notices his ex-wife off-screen with another man. Sheen asks, "you want me to drag him out of here, kick the s**t out of him?". Berrenger and Snipes both look at him as if he has carrots growing out of his ears, and Sheen semi-realizing it isn't a good idea kinda shakes his head as if to answer his own question. The look on his face is priceless.

Really? Because some people have posted some favorite lines or scenes from Movies that aren't really subtle? The thread is like a game and everyone wants to play. Not so baffling.

Yes, that is why it's baffling to me. Like 60% of the replies in this thread aren't subtle at all. They're just "favorite scenes from movies."

Another great moment is when Michael is in the hospital and is reassuring his father, "I'm with you now," and later it turns out to mean so much more.

i lol'd here...both during the film and in reading your post. and in the spirit of responses that don't fit the title of the thread at all, im gonna go with the end of castaway...when tom hanks is literally stuck at a crossroad!!!

i wish i could actually make a worthwhile contribution here, but i cant even after scanning my dvd collection and thinking of subtle moments...

There is a line in "Something About Mary" where Stiller asks Woobie about marriage. Woobie responds in a positive, matter of fact way saying "Every day is better than the next" and continues on. It took me a second viewing to actually realize that he wasn't complimenting the marriage, but bashing it. Very subtle, most people I've talked to didn't pick up on this line right away, partially because of the delivery.
