NL200, flop trips no kicker oop
UTG+1 is a very fishy calling station, MP2 is a solid TAG over a small sample.

[/ QUOTE ] yeah draw/air/some pps. you see if mp2 is really that good hell likely not reraise any K he has unless it has a bad ass kicker which isnt a likly scenario. Now His raise also has a bit of "hey i know this donkey doenst have anything and will fold to my raise with his probably [censored] hands. and of course there is the flush draw. now if we flat call here mp2 being as smart as he is will ususally play accordling allowing us to pot control oop reasonbly well. if hes a cow boy type i might call him down the whole way but we dont have that read just yet. Here i call flop and play a turn. |

Re: NL200, flop trips no kicker oop
What's a TAG's limp in mid position means?
I would say any pairs up to 66, most suited connectors, some off suited connectors, some 2 gappers. I think a TAG is either raising or folding KJ,KT while he is almost always raising KQ especially given the read on UTG+1. So folding is not an option. I would flat call and lead almost any turn, above all if a diamond comes, if you get called then you still have outs for a boat and if he raises you then you fold because he probably made a flush. I like this better than check and 3 betting flop which is going to cost you more if you are behind. |

Re: NL200, flop trips no kicker oop
I agree with the suggestions of other possible holdings for MP2, including 8x or 99-JJ; I certainly don't think he has to have a K and I think a fold on the flop is probably a little too tight. Why, though, does everyone seem to be discounting the possibility of UTG+1 having a K? Fishy calling stations (by their definition) always make me sit up and pay attention when they deviate from their norm by betting out (although I also accept that many weak players will often slow play trips here).
I like the idea of representing the flush if a diamond hits against MP2, but that's probably not going to work if UTG+1 stays in the hand (which he certainly will if he has a K). If both opponents stay in, I think check the turn and re-assess in the light of the action. I wouldn't like to build a big pot here, oop. |
