Default US Gov Debt

Since the gov runs at a deficit, will the debt ever be paid off? What percentage of taxes go towards the debt? Why does it matter what % of the GNP that it is if it is never paid off?

Default Re: US Gov Debt

I think it's mathmatically impossible for the debt to be paid off. It's only serviced through the creation of money (more debt) from The Fed which digs a deeper debt hole and passes the liability onto US tax payers (ie-the middle class)

wot a mess.
