It is SO cool when you have to stack like a suitcase full of money on the table, and you win, and pack all the money back into the suitcase and then push a single $1 chip out there.

That's the part that people looking at a Martingale always seem to forget about... :P

Four days ago, I deposited $200 and started Martingaling at the single player Party Blackjack table. I started the Martingale in the beginning at $1, but later on I would occassionally start at 5 or 10 dollars. I won well over the next several days, winning $1800 to bring my account balance up to $2000. At least three times, I won my big bet of $400 when I was down to my last $100 after the big bet. It was very thrilling as you might imagine. I knew that Martingaling was a very risky strategy and I knew I should have quit while I was ahead. However my feeling of luck corrupted me and I could not stop. Apparently my luck ran out a couple hours ago, and I lost my big bet, with my account at $1500 I started flatbetting $500 a hand and busted soon after. Yeah, martingaling can be profitable in the short term, but I would not try this experiment again.

I don't know what "Martingaling" means if you don't stop when you win. Is it just "increasing your bets"?

Sounds like a great experiment.

P.S. I don't know what this means, either:[ QUOTE ]

Anyone ever experimented with this strategy? I've heard of people using it and played it some with play money. I was told it's highly dependant on the max bet, for example betting $5 a hand and doubling when you lose, you could play 8 hands before the table cap limited you @ a $1000.00 max table.

Anyone used this? How'd it work out? What game did you use it on?

Thanks

I have a much better idea - and MUCH better one. Instead of just doubling your bets each time you lose, TRIPLE THEM! Yea, that's the secret! Triple up each and every time you lose and you are SURE to bankrupt the casino in no time!

Look at the math:

Doubling up 6 times in a row (hey, there no way somethings going to come up more than SIX times in a row!!!):

1+2+4+8+16+32 = Total win: $1

Triple up:

1+3+9+27+81+243 = total win: $122 !!!!

The math is clear - if you triple up you'll win up to 122 times faster!

I'll let you test this yourself - but I do ask that you give me a mere 2 or 3% of your total wins for this million dollar idea!

Better yet, try out a simulator. http://www.iansharpe.com/art_martingale.php
You'll figure out that with a high enough BR, you'll have more winning sessions on average, but you'll still be cleaned out often enough for it to be a losing strategy overall.

I would set this up as single 0, to reduce the house edge.

Note: Someone is bound to punch in $1 billion or something, and they'll probably notice they can't stop winning. Be assured that in the long run, you're going to lose your $1 billion bankroll often enough to overcome all of those relatively small wins you get.

Bust after fifteen spins. This game is rigged.
