"Fenway Park is literally shaking."

I take it you've never seen a live baseball game in a packed stadium? The structures do literally shake sometimes. The crowd stops their feet and the concrete shakes - particularily if you are in the raised part of the stadium as the announcers always are.

[/ QUOTE ]

Wow.
Some of the people trying to rip on the supposed stupidity of some of these announcers are only succeeding in pointing out their own incompetence.

Yes, stadiums really do shake and you really can feel it. Kind of weird that someone would think otherwise.

A lot of the comments quoted in this thread really weren't that bad at all and some of them were actually 100% correct and it was the poster who was REALLY in the wrong.

The Blue Jays and their lifeless 20,000 crowds play in a stadium that seats 80,000. This is the only place I've seen a pro baseball game so give me a break.

wow Eduardo Perez just said (after regurgitating ad nausuem all the typical media-driven nonsensical A-Rod October jargon): "Alex Rodriguez isn't like a Mike Lowell, who's won it twice now."

Alex. Rodriguez. Isn't. Like. A. Mike. FKUCING. Lowell. Mike. Lowell. Is. Better. Than. A-Rod. When. It. Counts. And. Also. Has. A. Beard. Which. A-Rod. Hasn't. Sported. To. Date.

When Eduardo Perez criticized the decision to walk Manny with two men on to get to Lowell, saying, "I would've pitched to Manny, and then walked Lowell," I stopped listening to anything he had to say.

I'm as big a Lowell fanboi as you'll ever meet, but let's get real.

Talking about the Pats blowing out the Redskins Emmitt Smith just said "blah blah blah, if you can't cover them you get BLOWED OUT! You get BLOWED OUT!..."

Maybe he said "Blown" but he has a cold.

Great one by the Grizzlies local team on NBA League Pass.

The Pacers are shooting 58% through 3 quarters and the announcers have kept talking about how they won't be able to keep it up, but they have. Right at the end of the 3rd quarter one of them says "Now I still think it'll be down around 52%, maybe 53% at the most by the end of the game."

browns/seahawks game today, the lead announcer (dunno his name right now) was doing one of those in-game promos for the simpsons halloween special tonight...

obviously, he was reading straight from the sheet, and never has watched the simpsons.

here's exactly what he said, or read, as the case may be:

"Halloween's not over, until Homer says d'oh'

only, he didn't pronounce it as 'doh', he pronounced it, 'dee-oh'..

i guess just reading it, and never hearing homer say d'oh, you wouldn't know..

just caught my attention, i laughed, and remembered this thread..
