Default too weak?

3/6 table, kill pot, hero is da killa UTG and looks down at K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Four callers, I check my option. (questionable, I know, but I had seen .. no lie.. five Kxs hands in an hour and whiffed on 'em all.)

Flop comes K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] SB and BB check, I bet, horrible old lady in LP who plays every hand and unhesitatingly bets out into raisers calls, blinds fold.
Turn 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I bet 12, geezer calls.
River T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I ???

I felt like I was ahead the entire hand until the river, so I didn't want to try a c/r on the flop or turn in fear of having her check behind.

I've never played with a kill before. You're UTG and you check your option? Is it set up like a stradle if you are the kill UTG?

I'd have raised preflop, whiffes or no.
I doubt she has a flush, but it is hard to tell when all they ever do is call. There a (4)6s, (4)Js and a possible flush.

I'd check/call the river.

I think you check and call. If you bet and she raises, will you throw it away?

And yes, often times the kill is set up as a straddle if you're UTG.

I did check the river. She checked behind and showed Q5o. I raked in the pot, which was probably about $12 light. If the river was anything but a T or a heart I'd have bet out again, and called any raise.

just curious why a bet/fold or bet/call would not work here?

Grunch.

I would have raised PF.

Since you didn't raise PF, I would have c/r'd the flop if there was any indication that there would be a bet on the flop. BTW, your HH says four callers, but only three players act on the flop.

Fire turn, bet/fold river.

I had to read this over again. Then I had to clean the vomit off my keyboard. The raises don't get much easier than this. It's not even questionable in this game.

Check call the river.
