Default Legends of Poker - Where to Stay?

I'm going to LA to play the Legends of Poker at the Bike. I've never been there before, does anyone have a recommendation for a good hotel? I need a place with or near some pretty good restaurants, since I have a lot of food allergies which prevent me from eating virtually everything. Thanks.

Do not stay across the street at the Ramada.
Robberies aplenty during Legends.

I made the mistake of calling the Bike last year and asking for a hotel recommendation. They said to stay at the Ramada across the street, and it was a nightmare. The area is crime-ridden, the rooms are bad, and the parking is limited at the hotel. As someone stated, if you're going to stay at Wyndham why not just stay next door at Commerce Casino where you can walk downstairs and play cash? That's what I'm doing this year.

The Bike is in a crappy part of town and not really close to anything. Pasadena is a good bet, and Downtown LA has some upscale hotels that you can look into, but it can be pricey. Long Beach (down on the seashore) has some nice hotels, but it's farther than either of the other two-- but a straight shot up the 710 so it's easy access.

It's a bit of a drive no matter where you stay, and the traffic is no fun either... good luck!

There are a number of hotels and motels in Downey, about 3 miles away, that are safe. The Embassy Suites, for example, is safe but expensive. (A number of "high end" players stay there.)

There is a Ramada in Commerce (I-5 at Slauson, in the same parking lot with Denny's Restaurant) which is also safe, with interior corridors.

Avoid the Ramada Limited across the street from the Bike. That one is NOT safe.
