c'mon what? There are things such as table conditions, imagine, style and variation. You are now the 5th or 6th person saying RAISE PREFLOP ZOMG, and sofar it's not been very helpful.

bro, i didnt read the replies before i posted so calm down. limping isnt terrible, but everyone is saying raise PF because its more +EV than limping.

also @ J8:
if he can J8 then he can also have Q9, QT, 37s etc making this even more of a call.

That's not an argument, that's an assertion. And also you fail to address my and loosbastard's factors that come into play.

I mention J8 because you said I was only behind 68, which is obviously a very strange thing to say given that J8 is the most likely hand we are behind of.

Saying Q9 is as likely as J8 is totally bizarre to me. You think Q9 calls the flop and raises the turn, as likely as J8??!

why does MP being 1/2-stacked make limping any better than raising? or any better than if he had a full stack?

and what were the "table conditions" or other factors? all you said was that villain just sat down 5 hands ago... had he limped evry hand so far or something that tells you J8 is in his range?

my point is that:
1) you shouldve been all in on the turn and
2) 2pr is more likely than a turned strt.

Results:

I made an aggressive grudge call on the river because I couldn't get myself to fold (instincts ftw).

Villain had Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].

During play I hadn't noticed the two hearts.

I agree that shoveling the turn has merit. There are some hands that would get it ai on the turn but might not pay on the river, like T8, 98, and ofcourse, all kinds of [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] combinations.
