The big white bar comes from having a high-resolution screen. The portion below the bar is apparently aligned to the bottom and the white bar separates the rest of the page from it. When I stretch my window taller, the white bar gets taller with it.

That would be good, but I wouldn't stop there. You could maybe do like citysearch or craigslist where each city has its own. SanDiego.kickbackworld.com and LosAngeles.kickbackworld.com etc.
