Default what can i do?

i posted this in mtt strategy i guess its more of a bad beat crybaby post lol.

140 left in the 6 hand 26$ full tilt tourny at 11pm est. 84 cash, i have 13k new guy comes to table with 14k and is throwing chips left and right. he reraised me couple times i got away from the hand and just observed his erratic playing. few hands later i get dealt kqc in pos. i raised 3x bb. he reraises 1k i think blinds were 100/200 or close by. flop comes q68 rainbow i check he fires 2400 i raise to 6k. he reraises all in? my first thought was he had preaty much nothing and was trying to reraise me out again. so i pushed rest of chips in. im laughing cause clearly my kq has his 67 dominated and im thinking to myself free chips what a turdball. 6 comes on the river. i read this guy right for all of his chips, i was rolling real good in the tourny, and this pot would of put me in top 3. what did i do wrong. should i have just stayed completely away from this idiot and fold preflop in pos? theres just no reason for him to put his tourny life on the line with the smallest pair on the board. when i check raise him like that does he think i have nothing? its dum shyt like this that makes me want to stop playing. normally i dont check raise unless i have a guy thats throwing chips like this, was it wrong to do? i think if i bet first hes raising anyways with his erratic craze.
