Anyone care to explain why betting the turn is bad here? I mean if you put villain on the straight, we have quite a few outs, and even if he has the flush, we still have quite a few outs. If we go c/c here we have still put in roughly half our stack and again, its awkward even if we do hit on the river as far as getting stacks in then.

I never said it was bad, but I will mix things up in situations like this. I don't mind getting it in here and I will pick the best line to do it.
(The line that I feel will make the villain commit most money when I'm ahead)

You are getting 4-1 on the turn and if we assume that villain has a flush already you have 11 outs to the (near) nuts. Call and shove the river if you hit.

You don't have any fe and are very unlikely to have the best hand, so I don't see what a shove now would achieve.
