Default cbet, valuebet, bluff?

ftp 2/4 eff stax 100bb

villain is multitabling and playing fairly standard tag as far as i can tell. i am playing about 24/20 and haven't been caught doing anything out of line. he and i have not been involved in any pots beyond the flop, either.

i open 45o in the CO, he calls SB.

flop 752 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($30)

he c/c $22

turn 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($74)

he c/c $59

river 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($192)

he checks...

Overbet. ~$220-240. 88-TT will fold.

Just check, I think you get looked up pretty light here.

This is obv villian dependant and we don't know enough about him. What's his stats? He has a few 75,76,78,79 included in there with spades, i'd prob just check it. Need to know more about villian.

How is his range made up here?

He has 88-TT, 66 some good percentage of the time. These are the hands you want to bluff.

He also has 2 spades + 2 overcards or 2 spades + 1 pair here some percentage of the time or 7x or maybe a missed oesd. These are the hands you don't want to bluff. I guess these combos are a bigger percentage than 66, 88-TT, so bluffing here doesn't look good.

I check this down. All a bet does is open missed spades to bluff. And your hand isn't strong enough to call him out.

Not in agreement that an overbet will fold 88-TT by the way...

thanks all.

i think i relied too much on that we had no history (i think people tend to give credit until they have reason to do otherwise) and i didn't pay enough heed to the two missed flush draws, which he could easily include in my range.

i bet $125 and he used most of his timebank to call with 88.

I like checking these flops a lot. mid pair hands when its checked through because we can't stand a c/r.
